If you're a woman and you object, just don't follow that convention. Eventually it won't be a convention anymore.
PS I'm a guy and I think women are more sexy without the heels, makeup, skirtsuits etc. They just look too fake with all the stuff.

My point is it doesn't even work, but I agree it shouldn't even be a thing.
