I completely agree with the post, however blaming slack and discord for being closed siloes of information isn't entirely true when compared to the OG... IRC. Consider IRC logs. If you didn't have a bot recording conversations and publishing them on a website, you had no records either. Sure they're currently recorded and siloed, but a bot can be written to record slack/discord etc. and publish on a website just the same.
