You mention butchering the Skype branding, but I also uninstalled one of the Teams apps so I would stop opening the wrong by accident.
The one I still have is called "Microsoft Teams (work or school)," I forget what the other was. "Microsoft Teams (friends and family)" or something.
- yjftsjthsd-h 4y agoOkay, in my defense I escaped that ecosystem just as the thing I knew as Teams was replacing SfB, and I was unaware that they'd pulled that... fascinating little twist.
- wlesieutre 4y agoI was wrong, the other one doesn't specify anything at all. So you have "Microsoft Teams" or "Microsoft Teams (work or school)". And then the icons are barely different too. https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/image/serverpage/image-id/315015i31D0A1060770F7E2/image-size/large?v=v2&px=999 https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/image/serverpage/imag... What a stupid branding mess.
- koyote 4y agoThere's also the two OneNotes. I got quite confused the other day when the OneNote on my personal machine did not look like the one on my work machine. Turns out there's OneNote for Windows 10 and OneNote (which also runs on Windows 10...)
- wlesieutre 4y agoOneNote for Windows 10 is also for Windows 11, but why plan ahead with version naming? (see also: Xbox)
