Everyone loves energy until it isn't there. "renewables" aren't going to be able to take over any time soon and it takes a LONG time to establish new lines of supply. All short sighted moves like "tax the hell out of them" do is put the brakes on any development underway and years from now there will be shortages that everyone will bitch and moan about those "evil" oil companies causing. Nevermind that this current "crises" was entirely caused by the policy changes of the current US administration.
