The two types of software quality
- zenorocha 4y agoAfter watching a talk from Kevin Hale (former YC partner) on How to Build Products Users Love, I decided to write about quality applied to software and technical products. I would love to hear your thoughts about this piece.
- gaudat 4y agoThis probably does not only apply to software but to UI/UX in general. The "atarimae" translates to "UI/UX that works" and "miryouteki" is "UI/UX that is pleasing to use".
- nabi_nafio 4y agoPlaid's use of using an API to apply to jobs is very nifty.
- dejj 4y ago"Types of quality" reminds me of Robert M. Pirsig's "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pirsig%27s_metaphysics_of_Quality https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pirsig%27s_metaphysics_of_Qual...
- nonrandomstring 4y agoAlso the first thing on my mind. Reading the article I see that Zeno Rocha's article is about functional versus non-functional qualities, whereas Pirsig's philosophy is about static versus dynamic forms of quality.
- callesgg 4y agoPirsig's first book talks a bit about classical vs romantic thinking. Which is a loot like the articles description of functional and aesthetical quality.
