- karmajunkie 4y agoNo idea why you got downvoted for this, maybe because it sounds callous. Being able to evaluate all things for risks and benefits to you personally is invaluable. Best advice I ever got was to treat personal relationships the way I do business relationships, and periodically review them to see if the ROI (in terms of personal enjoyment/fulfillment/<insert non-monetary metric here>) was worth what I put into them. Just doing that allowed me to stop sinking time and energy into friend groups that never provided me with any fulfillment of emotional or social needs, that only demanded things from me.
