There are certainly many genderbent takes on super heroes in comic books. However, I can't think of any movies that took a superhero in a completely different direction that didn't flop.
- dragontamer 4y agoIs Batgirl a radically different direction in this movie than where she was historically? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n00xZ_mKQgk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n00xZ_mKQgk Or her first footage: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rQYwEuQJXQU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rQYwEuQJXQU
- jimmydorry 4y agoWe won't know, as the movie got scrapped. But from what I saw people talking about, the main point of contention for this particular adaption appeared to be the "race swapping" of the main character. This version of the Bat Girl was being pushed as the first female hispanic super hero.
