OT: Would you care telling some more about details? How does it work, did you set it up yourself, how it's done? I am very much interested.
- brushfoot 4y agoThe software is called Amazing Marvin (https://amazingmarvin.com/ https://amazingmarvin.com/). Marvin has a modular system of features that they call Strategies, one of which is Affirmations, which is a set of user-defined messages that it pulls a random message from once a day to show above your tasks. I mostly use it for inspirational quotes. I'm pretty happy with Marvin overall. It natively supports time estimates and different types of task scheduling (specific days, weeks, months). I came to it from Todoist, Remember the Milk, and Outlook tasks. I had also tried Taskwarrior. My only complaint is that performance is not so good once you have more than a couple hundred active tasks. But Strategies are great. I love that they can be toggled and how many there are.
- gala8y 4y agoThanks a lot. Looks like Marvin is using many approaches and it is all nicely chunked down into features - interesting set. I was particularly interested in these Affirmations. I see potential in presenting such 'reminders' to influence behavior / mindset. Marvin is the first piece of software I see trying to do this (added: I see it being done in a rather static manner, but still...)
