Filezilla is the worst for this.
- dendriti 4y agoThat's because Filezilla uses updates as a vector for advertising... they're incentivized to make updates as small and trivial as possible.
- phendrenad2 4y agoYes, it seems many adware apps do this. Do a small pointless update, show a splash screen listing the "changes", and cram an ad in there too (which is the real purpose of the popup). (Firefox is kinda the same, in that every time it updates, it shows you a new tab reminding you that you should pay them money for that pocket service...)
