I've commented on this before (https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=2670735 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=2670735): In the late 2000s, inside a university library copy of the 2003 edition of the Clocksin and Mellish book Programming in Prolog I found a print-out (dot-matrix, by the look of it) of an email sent in 1988 from one of the authors of the book to the other, regarding how to revise it for a future edition.
