CADtron: A gesture-based CAD environment
- samstave 4y agoI LOVE THIS! I have been using Autocad since v9, GeneriCAD prior to that. I have always wanted some aspects of this. Some feature suggestions to muse: * The arc selection/conversion is great. Maybe add FILLET and CHAMFER gestures? * An ortho projection capability for planes that can be applied to each plane for the slicer? * Offest (CTRL and then swipe through a line in the direction of the offset, then prompted for distance input or simply click at the point you want the offset to be placed - and it dimensions the dist * CTRL, SHIFT, ALT clicking to select different primitives/ortho constraints / scale uniform etc.. * PNG import for background. * SVG output. * Color fills * Grid + Snap This seems like the best thing to give a 4 year old to start teaching them about CAD. The earlier you can get this in front of kids-with-context-bias... it would be great to see how they assimilate the gestures. I LOVE the start of this project. Kudos.
