My (one-person) company runs a discord for folks interested in software internals: compilers, databases, emulators, distributed systems, games, etc. We have folks talking about their technical challenges at work (myself included). I've seen a number of times someone get unstuck talking through on there. I think live chat is the best way to work through open-ended questions.
