Why is modern art so damn boring?
- ttyprintk 4y agoWhen postmodernism had to compete with modernism, it lacked the disadvantage of modernism’s association with totalitarian states. Today’s art needs to be inoffensive to today’s totalitarian benefactors, yet comes at a time when people see an axis between authenticity and derivativeness. So the existence of post-postmodernism means people are looking for sincerity outside modern art.
