And to be honest, even all of your numbers completely ignore the elephant in the room.
ie - the fact that the group committing the largest number of homicides against asians are, well, asians. Simple facts like that are ignored by people pushing racial statistics in one direction or another because it doesn't line up with their world views.
People seem almost fearful to admit that it's actually whites who kill whites, blacks who kill blacks, asians who kill asians, hispanics who kill hispanics, native americans who kill native americans, and so on. The implications of these inconvenient facts seem too devastating to the current societal psychology to allow those facts to be broadcast too widely. Much easier on our psychology to blame whites, or blacks, or hispanics, or anyone really, other than intra-racial violence.
I realize the article is not strictly about homicide, but since your comment brought forth the issue I thought now would be as good a time as any to bring up the elephant in the room. And that elephant is the fact that, if we want to fear, well, we all have far more to "fear" from what are supposedly "our own", than we have to "fear" from "the other".
- kmonsen 4y agoI wonder if there is some nuance to this. I think most people are killed by someone they know, which I guess is most likely to be by your own race. So of the people killed by strangers maybe the statistics are different?
