Created an audience monetization platform called Unknot. Looking for feedbacks
- jomoh 4y agoDevelopment has been going on for less than three weeks now, but I think maybe launching a waitlist is a good idea. I'm more looking forward to seeing some feedback on the idea of Unknot.app or the UI, or other unrelated stuff. Good and ugly, any feedback is very welcome, thanks guys.
- techdragon 4y agoThe sales copy could use some polish. It took me a couple of re-reads to fully get the concept. It's not that bad, I just tripped over the wording in a few places. The other thing I'm not sure about is how the average audience member will respond to the monetisation mechanic. This sort of para-social monetisation is a tricky ground and it can be easy to make the audience feel exploited and push them away, which is something you don't really want to risk on such a public profile as on Twitter. Does the monetisation upside for the influencer make it worth the risk of having people not follow them and critically the downstream effects of losing those followers on monetisation via other platforms like Patreon, GitHub Sponsors, Twitch subscribers and bits/drops, Youtube subscribers and paid superchats. Since twitter isn't the only game for a lot of influencers it may have limited appeal.
- jomoh 4y agoThank you mate, I'll go and revise my copy now. As for the concerns you mentioned, I think they do exist as well. But in fact, for me, or Unknot itself is positioned as a Q & A platform. The questions on this platform are more practical ones, like I ask you for advice on how to polish my website copy? How to be a good copywriter. It is more like consulting and paying for knowledge. What do you think?
