Interesting article. Sad to see someone like this due early from COVID…
But the editor was asleep at the wheel with this article… “led the company until its 2008 sale to Hasbro for $77.5 million in 2008.” Using the year twice in the same sentence fragment is pretty atrocious editing.
- ksaj 4y agoThanks. Typos are wildly interesting to HN readers, and clearly more important than what the post was actually about. Who needs information when you can derail it with pedantry?
- techdragon 4y agoActually the reason it struck me so strongly is it represents how little attention the author put into their article about his death. It made me feel like they cared less about him and I wanted to highlight that. The secondary fact that the editorial process failed to catch this just doubles down on the lack of care or attention his death received by this particular publication.
- ksaj 4y agoKeeping with the HN spirit, that would actually be a great other post. You aren't wrong -- it is everywhere these days. And in a bygone era, it would have gotten a writer and the editor reprimanded or fired. But why hijack an informative post just to wave that unrelated flag?
