Company I work for gives international Mental Health Day off, October 10th.
- elcomet 4y agoIt seems strange to fix a specific day, people might need a day off for dealing with their mental health on another day of the year.
- fleddr 4y agoThis is where you need to see the glass half full. Obviously, serious mental health issues are not restricted to a fixed day per year. Yet the company did give some relief, which they also could not have done at all. There's a real world cost to giving you that day, and in my view, money talks. More importantly, I find consistency between messaging and actions important.
- RSHEPP 4y agoI mean we also get unlimited vacation time and it's encouraged to be used. This is just one of the fifteen holidays we get.
- coffee_beqn 4y agoNice token gesture but that makes just as much sense as having a National sick day. What am I going to time when I get sick?
- RSHEPP 4y agoUse the unlimited vacation days they give us. They're pretty reasonable.
- fleddr 4y agoGood, in my book this means the company is allowed to send said email and be taken seriously.
