IANAL but my understanding is the ability to copyright the output from something like DALL-E 2 is questionable at best, due the lack of human authorship.

- Buttons840 4y agoWhat if DALL-E or its successor spits out a few hundred trillion illustrations? None are copyrightable? I think someone taking the time to touch this up would make it copyrightable and trademarkable, and I'm okay with that. AI generated patents though? Only if we allow AI generated prior art.
