- themodelplumber 4y agoWow did the tone change halfway through! She seems to be leaning into a crusader's mentality. Which is not exactly what PRC has come to love about the Democratic party in recent decades. This will be interesting to watch.
- upsidesinclude 4y agoThis is showmanship. China will take no action - in order to bolster the hyper-progressive front of the democratic party. This is a beneficial outcome for China. They can take Taiwan at any point in time. This allows them to influence US politics for potentially the next six years.
- upsidesinclude 4y agoNow, appearing globally weak & ineffective at controlling the economy, the democrats step up. I wouldn't be surprised if this idea was proposed by the CCP. What better way to give the appearance of strength to the democrats in the run-up to the midterms? Grandstand in front of China on behalf of "democracy". Note that Pelosi does not say "freedom". The Chinese would far prefer to extend the governance of the US by the Democratic party. They could in no way effect as much disaster upon us through their own actions
