Who do you think you're hurting by... ummm... watching a movie... on a service that you paid for?
- amichail 4y agoYou hurt the content creator since licensing agreements are based on the assumption that people only view content that is intended for the region that they are in.
- josephcsible 4y agoImagine that instead of using a VPN, you flew to the other region, watched the content there, and then flew back home. From the content creator's perspective, how does the VPN hurt them if that doesn't?
- amichail 4y agoThey can get more money by licensing their content to be available in more regions.
- josephcsible 4y agoBook publishers could get more money if libraries didn't exist. Are libraries unethical too?
- Ekaros 4y agoIn some countries libraries pay authors per number of lends. If such scheme is in place or price of copy is higher then it is not unethical. Though I would say otherwise it is comparable to piracy.
- josephcsible 4y agoDo you think libraries are unethical in countries where they don't do that?
- bluefirebrand 4y agoThat's between them and Netflix though, not them and Netflix's consumers.
