I’ve experienced that it suffices to give constant updates on things I’ve shipped and where I’m stuck. In meetings, I regularly give a short show and tell of what I’ve built. So far, that has worked out well. Using a display of suffering as virtue signal sounds not like a recipe for an uplifting workplace.
