I've always considered emojis to be an abuse of the unicode system: the purpose of unicode should be to standardize universal languages, not to let companies like apple push arbitrary vendor-specific crap onto everyone else. Not just that, but I just find the design and usage of emojis to be very infantile and patronizing. Language is meant to evolve naturally. Imagine if these people got to decide how words were spelt or something. shameful.
