The headline should really just read “looming copper price increases”
If copper prices triple, demand will react.
The price of copper is inconsequential to EV production, demand will be rationed elsewhere.
- joshlemer 4y agoHopefully demand for EVs (seems automobiles in general) is more elastic than you make it out and people start gradually living less cad centric lives and cycling/walking/bus/subwaying more.
- eru 4y agoThe demand for EVs is probably elastic, but the impact of copper prices on EV prices is probably small enough that it doesn't matter. And thus EV demand won't react much to copper prices.
