Sounds kind of vaguely appealing. But the devil's in the details. Has there ever been a democracy anywhere on earth, ever? If there was, what happened to it, and how can that be avoided? If not, then what will this democracy mean in daily terms (apart from technical ones)?
I'm all ears.
- SereneDesiree 4y agoYeah, it's a tough question, and I'll freely admit that I don't have a working model on how things should happen. I personally have some moral contradictions that aren't resolved in this area. For instance, at this point in time, social media is almost a necessity for interacting with the world at large. If we treat it as such, then practices such as selling data and creating shifty terms of service agreements seem morally wrong. Maybe users should have more control over their own privacy and the contracts they sign. On the other hand, I don't know how to justify the government forcing an institution to allow the public to dictate how it elects staff members. Perhaps a company implementing a limited democracy on its own is a good solution.
