I'm a bit puzzled that you didn't mention accidents at all, just like the article. Every time I see one of those rushing by it looks like some gnarly injuries waiting to happen, and an emergency doctor confirmed that (although I don't have numbers). Also, I'm not sure that calling a battery-powered mode of transportation, for distances so short they don't require motors at all, 'low-emission' is adequate.
