But the average person is always going to do what is best for them. You can let this inform almost any decision of your life when trying to decide what herd behavior and your users will do.
- woodruffw 4y agoThat’s an extremely popular opinion, as evidenced by everybody doing it :-) Most of the responses here are methodological ones, not claims that we should all selflessly ride public transit.

- ska 4y agoI don’t see why you would expect this to be unpopular. You are oversimplifying though , the average person is usually going to do what they think is best for them, given the options they know about. The distinction is critical in topics like city/transportation planning.
- JohnJamesRambo 4y agoI’d expect it to be unpopular because HN often seems to be solely populated by people riding a bike inside a subway car. :)
