I would recommend a metal solar casio watch like the AL-180MVV-1. It's small and light and doesn't get in the way when I'm working at my desk; I usually want to remove watches when I type. I generally don't feel like it is jutting out like my larger G-Shock, which I'm usually more aware of at any given time. It's a bit nerdy looking whilst also tidy, meaning you can wear it with nice clothes, and it's solar, so you don't need to worry about batteries. It's also not so expensive that if you destroy it you'll feel bad.
