IR Decoding with BPF
- csdvrx 4y ago> Lastly, other things than button presses are encoded in IR, for example target temperatures in air conditioning remote controls, The full state of some AC is stored on the remote itself, for example http://diglo.altervista.org/blog/?p=1033 http://diglo.altervista.org/blog/?p=1033 A stateless AC makes some special usecases possible: I'm trying to control a similar AC by infrared pulses sent by a very simple shell script (or python, or C code...) using as a thermostat not just the AC local reading but distant readings from a few Xiaomi Mijia thermometers https://esphome.io/components/sensor/xiaomi_ble.html#lywsd03mmc https://esphome.io/components/sensor/xiaomi_ble.html#lywsd03... The response curve could be tweaked to ensure all remote thermometer report being within a certain range. Doing the whole thing in BPF (infrared + bluetooth) could be very fun!
