Maybe the button is placed okay for another finger to wrap around the device and reach it? That probably depends on how finicky the reader is.
- ClumsyPilot 4y agocan't you just use index finger on the sensor?
- tluyben2 4y agoThat might increase the chance of dropping the phone as it's not made to operate it that way?
- SECProto 4y agoI have a side mounted fingerprint reader, and from my experience, I can easily unlock it with either hand - using my right thumb or my left index finger. I think i also have a couple finger tips in there so I can unlock it when it's laying on a desk without needing to pick it up.
- spiffytech 4y agoOh, good to know! The phone sounds nice otherwise, so I'm glad to hear this isn't a problem for you on similar devices.
- btbuildem 4y agoIt really should come in two options
- enragedcacti 4y agoI had a Nextbit Robin which was one of the first with a side fingerprint reader, back in 2016. I'm right handed so I didn't use it often but when I did pick up the phone with my left hand my index finger worked pretty well. It was also 3mm wider than the Zenfone 9, so as long as you have an average sized hand and they haven't bungled the implementation I think it would probably work okay.
