  Yes, this is how I use it, too. But we're not like the majority of users who use it like Radio - just picking a popular playlist or "radio" from the Spotify start page, and letting it play for hours on end. That's why the business for the suppliers of Spotify has been reduced to basically pitch the songs they're trying to promote to the most frequented playlists. That's how "payola" has made it into the digital realm. The algorithmic reco's on Spotify are a different, less interesting story for artists and labels.
