That argument doesn't hold. Yes, climate action is needed. But, for many countries that have to lift their populace from poverty, 'goal #1: No Poverty' and 'goal #2: Zero hunger' may carry higher weightage as they tend to their immediate and short/medium term objectives. Unfortunately, there is no long-run without considering the short-run.
