Tesla driver using Autopilot kills motorcyclist, prompting NHTSA investigation
- dieselgate 4y agoWow this is tragic. Of course vehicle crashes happen all the time but Tesla certainly has a target on its back with all the autopilot testing etc. Motorcycles are often difficult to see (but in this case it seems like the motorcyclist should have been seen as the Tesla hit it from behind) - but motorcycles are often easier to “hear”. I wonder if autopilots utilize any sort of Doppler or sound input to make spatial decisions? At the very least the Tesla driver remained on the scene…
