As a third worlder in a considerably corrupt and iniquitous society, it was all about avoiding either a dead-end quasi starvation little impactful job, or morally questionable work. The realization itself was essentially religious to me, God guided me towards this decision when I was 16. At 29 it was well worth it, I have my own international business while still living where I was born and being a force for good.
