- atum47 4y agoHi HN, I've been playing with CRT filters this last week [1, 2, 3], and I end up creating this simple way of faking a CRT filter on my website. What's your opinion on it? 1 - https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=32210442 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=32210442 2 - https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=32198455 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=32198455 3 - https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=32182774 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=32182774
- arcastroe 4y agoI'm curious to know: how does the site look on real CRT displays?
- atum47 4y agoIf you ever got the chance to see, share it with me please
- savejournalism 4y agoThis is really cool, love seeing personal websites like this. Although, when I go to Start>Games and try to click any game nothing happens (The computer i am using atm has JS enabled and should be able to run it).
- atum47 4y agoI've been hosting my games on itch.io but everytime they seem to break something. I'll see if it's worth to bring them back to my website. Thanks for the feedback
- Markoff 4y agoThe CRT effect was not really that pronounced (certainly not during W95 times displays since you use that theme) unless you looked from up to very close, all these fake effects are overdoing it giving young kids different ideas about past. This looks more like very low resolution TV than computer display from mid 90s.
- atum47 4y ago> This looks more like very low resolution TV than computer display from mid 90s. Uhum, I'm thinking about that as well. In the next iteration I'll probably try to add the scanline effect...
- mutant 4y agoFor the life of me I thought this meant critical race theory...
