I've always agreed with this view. Children can feel out lies and deception remarkably early. The whole of our social lives are determining what people are doing inside and modeling them accurately. I don't see why a new technique for lying (even if at scale) matters. Like sure, its very easy to imagine states of the world where lots of bad things happen. People just seem to confuse "easy to conceive of" with "inevitable future state"
