Possibly the manufacturer makes special batteries for certain regions, not entirely unlike rails, maybe Samsung batteries for the UK are set to 29° max. /s Yes, it doesn't seem like in countries that have 40° every year in summer, like (say) Italy, Greece, Spain or northern Africa that phenomenon is widespread, and on the other hand, presumably millions of people from the UK travel to these countries in summer and bring with them their phones without similar consequences.
