My Samsung phones batteries have blown up because of the recent UK heatwave
- blueflow 4y agoThis doesn't seem to happen in regions which have such temperatures normally. Might it be that their charger is broken?
- fariszr 4y agoYeah I agree, I haven't faced any issues even when in 40C. But I think the issue is these phones are stored, and not actively used, the tweet is from a tech YouTuber. The big thing is no other brand has the same problem.
- jaclaz 4y agoPossibly the manufacturer makes special batteries for certain regions, not entirely unlike rails, maybe Samsung batteries for the UK are set to 29° max. /s Yes, it doesn't seem like in countries that have 40° every year in summer, like (say) Italy, Greece, Spain or northern Africa that phenomenon is widespread, and on the other hand, presumably millions of people from the UK travel to these countries in summer and bring with them their phones without similar consequences.
- fariszr 4y agoThe phones look to be S7, Note 8 and S10+ I had an S7 edge swell its battery before, but I just replaced it and it worked. I think it happens because the phones are not actively used. the bigger issue is why is it only Samsung phones? And not the others?
