My answer to this is `direnv` and silo-specific subdirs where I set the git email ENV variables so that all projects default to the right email. Work quite well

My answer to this is `direnv` and silo-specific subdirs where I set the git email ENV variables so that all projects default to the right email. Work quite well. I also keep my AWS_PROFILE setting and a few more things in those silo-specific `.envrc` files.
