rysiek claims in this talk that the Signal desktop app requires 4GB of RAM in order to run because it is an electron app. Where does he get that number from? I'm currently running Signal on OSX and it has been open for 7 days. It has 5 processes, that combined are using 440MB. This is a lot, but an order of magnitude smaller than rysiek claims. Thought I'd look at other electron apps I have running. Slack is using ~700MB and VSCode is using ~1.4GB.
