Protein-Designing AI Opens Door to Medicines Humans Couldn’t Dream Up
- pontifier 4y agoInteresting... I've heard that life is just DNA's way of making more DNA, but this takes it to a whole new level. This feels like as big a step as some of the other major steps life has taken.
- badcarbine 4y agoSoon we may have compounds which do nothing other than alter the speed at which time goes by for us, enabling us to do in five minutes what it takes normal brains to perform in an hour.
- dqpb 4y agoWouldn’t that feel like our bodies are moving in slow motion? I think it would be very unpleasant.
- oneoff786 4y agoEhh probably not. It would just be faster execution of thoughts and quicker reaction times to things. Play a video game for a while and things will appear to move slower than they used to, because you can process it better. But your hands still move at the same rate and your general sense of time remains the same. It’s really just the illusion of having a better reaction time. You don’t feel like you’re slower by any means
- oneoff786 4y agoImagine all of the nonsense rhetoric one could come up with to post on HN with that capacity But honestly this sounds like nonsense
- russfink 4y agoIn time, it will become weaponized.
- euroderf 4y agoSkyNet shoulda skipped all the Terminator malarkey and just worked on viruses, proteins, that sort of thing.

- norwalkbear 4y agoThis could become an evolutionary leap for our species!
