- mikestew 4y agoAnd it's just a rehash of one person's telling of the story, the original for which can be found here (scroll past about three other papers, or search "communicate new scientific"): https://bjui-journals.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/epdf/10.1111/j.1464-410X.2005.05797.x https://bjui-journals.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/epdf/10.11... To the article's credit, it does have that link in it, I just dug it out.

- iLemming 4y agoHahaha... Reminded me an old, Soviet-era Russian that joke goes like this: A bunch of farmers gather around the village club for what previously was announced as "a big shot professor comes all the way from the city to present a lecture titled 'what is love...'" The professor goes on the stage and sets up the equipment; there's a projector beam; people are excited; he starts talking: "There are different types of love..." The audience: "Slides... show us some slides!" Professor keeps talking. "There's love between a man and a woman..." The audience: "Any slides there?..." Professor: "And sometimes, there's love between two women..." The audience: "What about slides?..." Professor: "Sometimes, there's love between men..." Someone shouts: "Slides, please..." Professor: "And of course, sometimes we feel this deep, profound love for our motherland. And now, I'll show you some slides..."
