I have toddler age kids and I am not interely sure I would be able to distinguish this from another high fever infection. Icteric skin is as far as I know not that noticieable in these cases. So, from a parents perspective, other than slightly whiter poop, without a physician and/or lab work, it would probably just look like one of the other thousands of diseases kids catch in daycare.
