More Cold War propaganda. Sadly, we are going to see much more of it in the coming years. China, Iran, Russia and whoever supports them are going to be routinely smeared from head to toe by the MSM, of which BBC is one of the most egregiously biased.
- zvmaz 4y agoBut is what the article relates true?
- Sin2x 4y agoOf course it's true -- it states that something could happen. Therefore, it's true whether or not that happens, that's basic discrete mathematics. But the thought was planted and that is what counts in the end. That's how propaganda works -- I highly recommend the seminal book on the subject: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Propaganda_(book) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Propaganda_(book)
- honkdaddy 4y ago> Police there recently announced that walking dogs in parks was a crime. The ban was justified as a measure to "protect the safety of the public". Sounds like it’s already happening; that was in the first paragraph of the article. I don’t see how this is an example of propaganda, unless you consider any news reporting in general to be propaganda.
- Sin2x 4y agoAnd why would I believe what MSM says on the matter concerning the "enemy" state? A quick google shows that this particular propagandist item was planted quite a few years ago: https://www.reddit.com/r/todayilearned/comments/1ospuo/til_it_is_illegal_to_walkown_a_dog_in_iran/ https://www.reddit.com/r/todayilearned/comments/1ospuo/til_i... If there are any Iranians on HN, I would be glad if they could share some light on the recent developments, of course.
