AI, new tools, and globalization is going to destroy the software developer class. Alright, great. I'm now the 3000th person since the late 80's to predict this!
- flyinglizard 4y agoIt’s mostly just going to drive up developer productivity, resulting in even more software. Even without AI, with modern languages, frameworks and SaaS/PaaS the amount of code writing you need to do is quite diminished, as opposed to plumbing and troubleshooting things that won’t work with other things.

- dmitriid 4y agoWe've been hearing that for years. And yet here we are. When an AI can understand and implement the customer's "parallel red lines some of which are perpendicular and some of them are green"[1], only then we're doomed. Until then, we're secure.
