I've heard this argument delivered genuinely from kind old ladies who care a lot about ethics, history, anthropology etc. It seems to be the "Godwin's Law" of political discussion. At some point it always goes back to might making right. ... Apologies if that was your [ought to be obvious but these days sure af isn't] point.

It’s one thing to champion might is right, it’s another to draw a line in the sand once the slaves revolt and overthrow the slave masters.
