FICLONE is the underlying ioctl: https://www.man7.org/linux/man-pages/man2/ioctl_ficlone.2.html https://www.man7.org/linux/man-pages/man2/ioctl_ficlone.2.ht... As of Linux 5.18, it's supported by btrfs, xfs, overlayfs and some networking filesystems.
