Discord is a black hole in the internet. People have discussions you can't search for and isn't indexed on Google etc.
It's convenient but it's worse than a forum for creating knowledge people can search through later. It's a shame it's used for such interesting discussion.
- toveja 4y agoThanks for pointing that out. What would be your suggestion/alternatives?

- willis936 4y agoI personally like reddit for public discussions. r/fusion used to be a ghost town with crackpots a few years. These days there are occasional good discussions and the crackpots are chased off.
- _dain_ 4y ago> People have discussions you can't search for and isn't indexed on Google etc. this is a feature not a bug. the real problem is lack of user ownership over data, not lack of searchability.
- shadowofneptune 4y agoIt's a chat room. The conversations are disposable, it is part of the medium. Having a record of discussion is not really what interests me about instant messaging.
