Why’s this 66 year old fridge better than the one I got now

- Ekaros 4y agoActually those are pretty nice features. My oven has rollout racks, but why can't my fridge has those as well...
- simonblack 4y agoBetter refrigerant gas. Old ones use things like Freon, newer ones use hydrocarbons that aren't as efficient and are explosive if they leak. But that fridge shown would cost thousands of dollars today, and most people just couldn't afford to buy it. Roll out shelves: need strong brackets and ball-bearings- far too costly, when we can sell a non-movable sheet of flimsy plastic.
