- eurasiantiger 4y agoNah, menthol is added to make the smoke easier on the throat so it’s easier to start smoking. Menthol is also a kappa-opioid agonist which means it causes dysphoria (the opposite of euphoria) for a longer time than the nicotine-MAOI combination causes euphoria, leading users to get another fix.
