Pretty much all of those cities are high-cost-of-living. If you have the ability to work fully remote, why wouldn't you pick somewhere significantly cheaper, but had decent schools, good transportation links, and nice weather?

if you’re single, good schools don’t matter as much - i’d say most (single) people pick their next destination based on the size of the local dating pool.

  Definitely. This is a huge reason most of the single remote workers I know haven't moved out to the country.
